POKOTABI / Dining Bar Komogomo
Dining Bar コモゴモ
Kyoto's Dining Bar Komogomo pairs comforting Western dining with an extensive drink list, serving standout dishes like soft, fluffy omurice, sizzling teppan Neapolitan pasta, and tender top blade steak.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A look through the food menu at Dining Bar Komogomo makes it immediately clear that the kitchen takes dining just as seriously as the drinks. The signature omurice is a house classic, layering soft, gently cooked eggs over seasoned garlic rice, finished with rich demiglace or other sauces to suit your mood. Substantial staples such as sizzling teppan Neapolitan spaghetti and savory fried rice make this an easy choice for a hearty, satisfying dinner.
The small-plate options are equally well considered for pairing with a drink. Meat lovers can turn to tender top blade steak, prized for its balanced marbling, or smoked duck breast. Egg dishes also feature prominently, including a thick, dashi-rich Japanese omelet served on its own or sandwiched between slices of bread with house sauce for a comforting bite.
Behind the counter, the bar maintains a broad selection that ranges from Scotch single malts and Japanese whiskies to custom gin- and vodka-based cocktails. Set in a renovated traditional townhouse accompanied by background music, the room accommodates quiet solo drinks as comfortably as group gatherings. Open from 19:00 until 2:00 the following morning, it works just as well for an early evening meal as it does for a midnight nightcap.
